Honors Medallions

Graduates will receive a special medallion to wear at Commencement. These medallions are distributed at the Senior Honors Thesis party. Students unable to attend can collect their medallions from the Honors Program office afterward.

Early Registration

Honors students enjoy early class registration, competitive scholarships, and smaller class sizes (15:1) in general education Honors seminars. Over 40 Honors seminars are available, focusing on discussion and higher-level critical thinking skills, taught by senior faculty, 90% of whom hold doctorates.

Upon reaching junior status, students can petition for one Honors course per semester (up to three total) within their major, allowing for enriched academic projects agreed upon by both the professor and student.

Completing a Senior Honors Thesis is particularly beneficial for those pursuing graduate studies, as many institutions require a writing sample. Recent Honors theses are published on the Digital Commons website.
